Crown Center was chosen as a site visited by a 15 member delegation of the
Ministry of Civil Affairs from The People's Republic of China in December 2009.
They were in the United States to tour several cities in order to learn
about social services for the elderly.

Board members, Lois Gould and Alvah Levine, were recognized for their initiative
in the creation and installation of new outdoor signs in October of 2009
to increase Crown Center's visibility.

In addition to paintings, Crown residents, staff, and a board member displayed weavings, woodworking, jewelry, glass artistry, sewing, and crocheting.

Student intern, Binuja Paudyal (below in native garb), gave a presentation to residents
as part of our Cultural Diversity Series. From Nepal, and getting a Master's Degree in Social Work
from Washington University in St. Louis, she assisted in our Social Services Department
for a semester in 2008.

Panera Co. generously donates day old bread and pastries to Crown Center on a weekly basis.

Residents below attended the October 2008 Harvest Lunch and reflect their enjoyment of
having tasted the many homemade samplings shared that day.

Crown residents took a trip to Graffton, IL for a picnic lunch and a relaxing pontoon cruise
on a pleasant, sunny day in October 2008.

Residents enjoyed a Charoset tasting event with Crown Center chef, Jon Rubin, to
compare various versions of this Passover food.

Board members and Friends of Crown Center honored new Board President, Steven Rosenblum
(third from left below), and the memory of his mother, Myla Rosenblum, at a
"Generations Event" in June 2008. Myla had served as Board President from 1978-82.
