Life at Crown Center

Support Services

Our goal is to create an environment that is helpful and supportive, so that residents can remain independent for as long as possible. We focus on this as an important investment in their health and well being.

  • Health and Wellness

Crown Center serves as a practicum teaching site for local universities with advanced degrees in Social Work. Below are two recent students pursuing master's degrees from Washington University and the University of MO - St. Louis, Ivy Zhou from China and
    Binuja Paudyal
    from Nepal.

In the second photo, they join our Social Workers Florence Schachter (far left), Lara Burch (far right), and our Resident Council President, Toni Hayes (center) at a farewell party
    for them in December 2008.

Florence Schachter, MSW, was honored in
January 2009 with the Chesed/Kindness Award
at the fourth annual peer recognition event of
J-PRO-STL (Jewish Professionals of St. Louis).

Florence writes a regular column for seniors published on the Jewish Federation website.
